Lindita’s Tamale Pie

1       POUND OF GROUND BEEF OR (COOKED CHICKEN)
2      CLOVES GARLIC, MINCED
1      CUP CHOPPED ONION
1      CUP MILK
1      8OZ. CANNED TOMATO SAUCE
1     15.25 OZ. CAN WHOLE KERNEL CORN, DRAINED
1      2.25   OZ. SLICED PITTED RIPE OLIVES
1      8.5 OZ. Box CORN MEAL (JIFFY MIX, FOR A SWEETER TASTE)
2     TEASPOONS CHILI POWDER
SALT TO TASTE
1/2  CUP  MOZZORELLA OR COLBY CHEESE SHREDDED  (OPTIONAL)

Preheat oven at 350.

In a large skillet, cook ground beef, onion, and garlic till meat is browned and onion is tender. Stir in remaining ingredients. cook until a slight boil. Turn into 13x9x2-inch baking dish (33 x 23 x 5 cm).  Top with cheese and bake for 35-45 minutes or till knife inserted comes out clean. Cut in squares. Makes 8 servings. Top with lettuce, tomatoes, salsa or sour cream.

Makes up to 8 servings.
